Why bug and issue tracking systems suck

  • They kill your creativity.
  • They induce you to manage bugs instead of fixing them.
  • They hide your bugs instead of uncovering them.
  • They are the most nonpersonal form of bug and issue tracking.
  • These system are synthetic representations for real world work.
  • They enable really fine grained controlling of people who get their hands dirty at work.
So why do you not use your old school pinboard for task management? Or try LEGO for bug tracking?
